Meet the musicians

Jesse Thompson

Originally from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Jesse Thompson began playing the violin when he was 9 years old. He has spent his summer attending music camps and festivals including New England Music Camp, Chamber Music Institute of Virginia, Philadelphia International Music Festival, the Sunflower Music Festival and Buzzards Bay Musicfest.

Jesse studied privately with Kenneth Sarch, who was concertmaster of the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra. While attending Duquesne University he studied primarily with Charles Stegeman as well as with Rachel Stegeman. During his studies, Jesse has played with the Wheeling Symphony,Pittsburg Ballet Theater, Pittsburg Opera Orchestra and the Grand Rapids Symphony. He graduated from Duquesne this past spring having earned a B.M., Artist Diploma, and M.M. in Violin Performance.

Jesse recently won a fellowship position with the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida and will be joining them in September.
