Jesse Thompson is a native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and began his violin studies at the age of nine. Throughout his career, Jesse has been involved in numerous festivals and music camps including New England Music Camp, Chamber Music institute of Virginia, Philadelphia International Music Festival, the Sunflower Music Festival, and Buzzards Bay Music Fest. He studied privately with Kenneth Sarch, former concertmaster of the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra up until his acceptance to Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa in 2015.
During his studies at Duquesne, Jesse has been involved with the Butler County Symphony, Wheeling Symphony, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra Pittsburgh to name a few. In 2019 Jesse was a finalist for the section violin position for the Pittsburgh Opera and Ballet Orchestras. He received his Bachelors in Violin Performance from Duquesne University in 2019 and recently graduated in the spring of 2022 from Duquesne University, receiving an Artist Diploma in Violin performance.
Mr. Thompson will be returning to Duquesne University to receive his Masters of Music in violin performance starting in the fall of 2022, continuing to study privately with Charles and Rachel Stegeman.
