Violinist and violist Jay Koziorynsky maintains an active performing career throughout Northeast Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Jay served as Assistant Principal Violist of The Cleveland Opera and The Warren Philharmonic, as well as the Assistant Concertmaster of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra from 2012-2016. Mr. Koziorynsky also performs regularly with several professional orchestras including the symphonies of Akron, Canton, Erie, and Wheeling. In addition to his duties as a player, Jay is currently Principal Librarian of the Youngstown Symphony and Ballet Western Reserve, where he is also a violinist. He also serves as the Orchestra Librarian for The Sunflower Music Festival and Pittsburgh Festival Opera, as well as the assistant librarian for Opera Western Reserve.
Jay maintains a strong dedication to chamber music and is frequently collaborating with many musicians and composers throughout the year. He plays on a violin made by George Schlieps c.1918 and a bow made in Cleveland by the acclaimed bow maker, Geza Balint. When he is not playing the violin or in the music library, he enjoys spending time with his fiancé James and their two dogs Chloe and Artie.
